PTE
The Pearson Test of English (PTE) is a computer-based test which assesses the English language skills of non-native speakers intending to apply for university courses in English-speaking countries.
It is a computer-based exam which focuses on real-life use of English covering aspects such as accents and language competency.
Types of tests
PTE Academic
The PTE Academic test evaluates candidate’s reading, writing, speaking and listening skills are tested as pert of their academic aptitude . The test is delivered on a computer at a secured exam center.
The validity of the scores is 2 years.
PTE General
The test format involves six different proficiency levels designed to test and approve the general English language abilities of the test taker.
This test consists of two parts: a written paper and spoken test like an interview, where both parts evaluate the reading, writing, speaking and listening skills of the test taker with a more realistic approach.
The score is valid for a lifetime.
PTE young learners
This test is designed for children from 6 – 13 years. It includes story writing, picture matching, group speaking section, and board game, tec. It is a fun test.
The score is valid for lifetime.

Test Format
The PTE exam structure is such that it is used by organizations, colleges and governments alike to assess a candidate’s English language proficiency.
PTE Exam takes around 2 hours and 15 minutes to complete and is a computer based exam held on the same day.

Band Scores
PTE is graded on a scale of 0 to 90 for each of the four sections, which are known as subtests. The highest score is 90, and the lowest score is 0.
recently Pearson, the company which administers the PTE, has made changes to their concordance report. As a result of this, the PTE scores are equate with IELTS bands. Concordance has not yet been implemented by the Australian and New Zealand immigration departments.

PTE Academic Online is a remote proctored version of PTE Academic that can be taken at home, in an office, or any other private, quiet location.
PTE Academic Online uses Pearson’s state-of-the-art OnVUE technology, which allows you to take the test securely through a browser.
To take PTE Academic Online you simply require a desktop or laptop computer with a good internet connection, a wired headset and a webcam.
You also need a private space with no distractions. Test takers will be monitored throughout their entire session by a human proctor. While taking the test you will not be able to access any other windows or leave the webcam view.
Only pens, pencils and erasers. You must bring the passport/national identity card you used on the IELTS Application Form to the test. A transparent water bottle is allowed without labels. You must leave everything else outside the examination room. Mobile phones and pagers must be switched off and placed with personal belongings in the area designated by the supervisor.
To take your PTE Academic Online test, you will need to download OnVUE remote proctoring software.
No. You should not use a VPN to complete PTE Academic Online. As PTE Academic Online cannot be delivered in certain locations, test takers from countries where testing is
not permitted cannot register for a test.
Test results usually are available within five working days, if not earlier.
You will receive an email from PTE when your score is ready.
PTE scores are valid for two years from the date of the exam. Once the two years are over, the expired PTE scores would be automatically removed from the test taker's account.
You can book your next test as soon as the results from your last test are available with resit test date no earlier than five days from your previous attempt.
You can only book one test at a time.
New appointments can be booked up to six months in advance.
